Post-Dispatch multimedia
For the completion of my master’s project in early 2010, I worked at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, producing the motion graphic branding for their multimedia that debuted in the summer. I also worked on numerous video/interactive projects and did some staff training in advanced video production. It was fascinating to work on a video series about food, places and people iconic to St. Louis.
The motion graphics were a challenge as I tried to integrate the idea of the old and new media merging and the well-known St. Louis Gateway Arch into the design. I also build custom pre-rolls and lower-thirds to to add more polish to their video and brand their multimedia.
My favorite video story was about the table tennis team at Lindenwood University outside St. Louis, which has a crazy collection of foreign players who went on to win several national championships in the program’s second season. I also did mainly deadline-driven pieces including this one about an Iron Chef competition between two local high schools.
I also had a chance to work on several interactive projects and publish some graphic design work I am proud of, including the interactive projects below on toasted ravioli in St. Louis, Opening Day 2010 for the St. Cardinals and a comparison of the swings of Cardinals greats Albert Pujols and Stan Musial.
